A very useful book. Very pleased that i bought it.

I like the fact that the book is very comprehensive and brings all the issues into the open and discusses them in mostly everyday language (with references). There does not however seem to have been a clear decision as to whether this book is aimed at the lay person (in which more explanation of technicalities would be in order) or the scientific community (hence the lack of technical explanation occasionally, including frequent assumptions as to the understanding of many acronyms)
I think it could have been edited more tightly in that there is much repetition between chapters (reflective of different chapter authors), and so the same ground is covered multiple times in different sections.
I wonder if in the interests of balance, the anti-vaccination lobby could have been given more opportunity to express their views (the old adage "i may disagree with everything you say, but will fight to the death for your right to say it..")
On the whole this this tremendously useful book that gathers the literature together and those who wish to delve more deeply into the references may do so at their leisure.
