You might be thinking what is the connection between arthritis and food?  I believe that what you eat can make a difference and an arthritis diet or an anti-inflammatory diet can help ease the symptoms of arthritis and inflammation.   I was truly surprised by how many people of all ages are affected as by rheumatoid arthritis as well as the many types of arthritis that exist.  In this book, I wanted to appeal to anyone that experiences arthritic symptom and inflammation and  to provide practical, affordable, simple  healthy recipes that will help you with an anti-inflammatory diet to help fight arthritis, help with weight loss, and a better quality life-style!  I have also included gluten-free, diabetic recipes and all nutritional information.  Please think of this book as just a healthy cookbook with easy, everyday recipes that will become a staple in your kitchen.

Since there are so many different symptoms one can experience fighting inflammation and this chronic disease, I have divided this arthritis cookbook into different chapters for easy reference to fit your individual need to help fight rheumatoid arthritis or any type of inflammation.  In the beginning of this arthritis cookbook, there is a Healthy Menus Chapter as healthy recipes from different chapters can be combined into complete meals to bring you the ultimate in nutrition. As you flip through the Anti-Inflammatory Chapters, you will recognize that anti-inflammatory recipes are right in line with a healthy, diabetes-friendly diet helping everyone to reduce their risk for long-term chronic disease.  The No Fuss Foods Chapter is dedicated to the easiest recipes to ensure a quick dinner on those more difficult days that you don't feel like cooking. The Bone Building Chapter focuses on recipes high in calcium and Vitamin D, for those battling Osteoporosis. Some medications have side effects and the Fight Fatigue, Fill Up with Fiber, and Tummy Troubles chapters include recipes to help with these issues.  The recipes in the Spice Up your Life Chapter include spices with anti-inflammatory recipes with properties said to help symptoms (and they will just spice up your life).  I have friends that have trouble holding utensils when eating so I devoted the Toss the Fork Chapter for sandwiches and pick-up foods.  I admit I have a sweet tooth and that is my reason for the Because I Have A Sweet Tooth Chapter.Symbols in the book:* Carrot symbol:  Vegetarian recipes* Snowflake symbol:  Freezer-friendly recipes that you can make ahead* D Symbol:  Diabetic Friendly recipes that meet the ADA guidelines* G symbol:  Gluten-free recipes* Each recipe includes the nutritional analysis and the diabetic exchange.  The analysis is        based on the larger servings. The nutritional analysis does not include any salt or pepper        (since it is listed to taste) or any ingredient with "optional" after it.

I have really enjoyed this cookbook, not only because it is beautiful to look at with pictures for every recipe, but I love how the book is broken into helpful chapters. No Fuss Foods chapter has been so helpful giving tips on how to use easy, pre-chopped ingredients for less stress on my joints. All of the nutrition information and recipes in the Vitamin C, Omega 3 and Bone Building Chapters have been awesome, and they are so delicious the whole family enjoys eating these nutritious meals too.

I was so excited to find a cookbook for RA. We have made 5 items (1 breakfast, 1 energy snack, 3 dinners) and all have turned out great. Easy to follow recipes, family friendly, and most of all, tasty! The book is divided by what you want to focus on (energy, diabetes, quick, etc.) and have noted freezer and gluten. One of my best purchases!
