Unambiguously Christian

It was a welcome change to review a children's book this week. The Berenstain Bears Keep the Faith is written by Mike Berenstain, Stan and Jan's son who continued their work. He has a whole line of books that are written with a Christian message. This book had Brother and Sister Bear wondering about their own faith and how science fits into that. My children enjoyed this book. The one thing I would change about this book is how the bears had to go to the preacher to get some answers for their questions. They could have asked their parents as in Deuteronomy 6.
This series is a lovely addition to already beloved characters and will be welcome in homes looking for unambiguous Christian content.

We Love The Berenstain Bears!

As a child, The Berenstain Bears series was certainly among my favorite books. I had (and actually still have) all the original books, and now enjoy sharing them with my own children.
Mike Berenstain, son of The Berenstain Bears original authors Stan and Jan, has continued the series that begins down a sunny dirt road deep in Bear Country in his parents' footsteps. The recent books have Christian messages and themes, such as giving thanks, showing forgiveness, and in the newest Berenstain Bears book, The Berenstain Bears Keep the Faith, understanding and having faith in God's love.
In the story, Brother and Sister Bear spend time with scientist cub Ferdy Factual, and find out that he doesn't believe in God, rather he believes in science. Befuddled, Brother and Sister Bear ask their parents why some bears don't believe in God, but they do. Mama and Papa Bear take the cubs to see the Bear Country preacher, Preacher Brown, who explains faith using the story of Daniel in the Lion's Den. Brother and Sister then realize that faith is an important part of their lives.
Stinker enjoyed this book, and so did I. I'm very happy that Mike Berenstain is keeping his parents' legacy alive by continuing to write and illustrate Berenstain Bears books so I can continue sharing this wonderful series with my children.

Delightful Young Readers tale!

THE BERENSTAIN BEARS KEEP THE FAITH by Mike Berenstain is a delightful Juvenile Fiction/Christian/Religious/Early Readers. Age range: 4-8 years. Series: Berenstain Bears/Living Lights. “I liked this book because it taught you about God and was good about telling you what faith is and means. I also like the pictures. I would recommend ages 5-10 years old”.
